What if your homeschool included the skills kids need most -- but rarely get taught?

Things like:

• how to manage big emotions
• how to think creatively
• how to solve problems
• how to bounce back from mistakes
• how to make and keep friends
• how to understand themselves and others

These skills shape confident, capable adults.

But most curriculum barely touches them.

Introducing The Learner's Lab

a monthly learning community where families explore the social, emotional, and thinking skills that help kids thrive in the real world.

And while these lessons are especially powerful for gifted, twice-exceptional, and neurodivergent kids…

they benefit every child.

The Learner’s Lab Is For...

families who want to help their kids:

• understand their emotions
• develop confidence
• think creatively
• navigate friendships
• build resilience
• grow strong executive function skills

Many of our members are homeschooling gifted, twice-exceptional, ADHD, autistic, or anxious kids -- and all are welcomed with open arms, but the truth is…

these skills benefit every child.

Problem-Solving

Help your child learn to tackle challenges with confidence, think through obstacles, and develop solutions that work in real life.

creative thinking

Nurture imagination, innovation, and flexible thinking through activities that encourage curiosity, exploration, and original ideas.

Social-Emotional

Build self-awareness, emotional intelligence, communication skills, and resilience so your child can thrive in relationships and everyday life.

Executive Functions

Strengthen organization, planning, focus, and self-management skills that help kids become more confident and independent learners.

Through live classes, creative challenges, and connection with other kids, these ideas move from theory to real life.

Kids don’t just learn about the skills.

They practice them.

What Happens Inside the Lab...

What Lab Members Are Saying

I’m so thankful for the resources you provide, as they seem specifically made for my quirky girl.

Meghan, mama of two

No one else understands the deep challenges of raising a tween that is extremely intelligent, and so I’m grateful to have your site, podcast, and now your membership to look to for support.

Cassidy, mama of two

Colleen helped me fall back in love with my son.

Michelle, mom of two

I'm so happy to have other parents who get it. My kids love The Learner's Lab! It has been a wonderful addition to our homeschool and our lives!

Melanie, mom of three

We love The Learner's Lab! When my boys hear Colleen's voice, they come running. My oldest especially has commented how she understands exactly how his brain works.

Janae, mom of two

Hi, I’m Colleen.

As a gifted specialist, author, speaker, and educational consultant, I spent years studying how children learn best.

But when I began homeschooling my four creative, differently wired kids (now ages 13–23), I discovered something surprising:

Knowing the research and living it out are two very different things.

Our family needed more than academics. My kids needed help developing confidence, emotional awareness, resilience, and the thinking skills that help them navigate the real world.

And I quickly realized we weren’t alone.

Families everywhere were searching for ways to nurture these essential life skills alongside learning.

So I created the community I wished we had from the beginning.

The Learner’s Lab.

A monthly learning community designed to help kids grow the social, emotional, and thinking skills that shape confident, capable adults.

I can’t wait to welcome you and your family.

The things you've taught about critical thinking, social skills, math & logic games, and creativity continues to fuel our joy in homeschooling.  Thank you for your work!! It matters, and keeps giving beyond what you can see.
