Ten years ago, this sweet little boy made me a mommy. His birth took Brian and me from married couple to a family. We were so blessed…
And still are…
From the start he was alert, active, and interested in everything going on. His favorite place to be was snuggled tight on Mommy’s or Daddy’s chest or in a wrap or carrier. He did not want to miss a single thing!
One of our favorite memories is from when his godfather and a friend came over to play cards with us. Little 4 month old Trevor went down to bed several times, but would not fall asleep. He wasn’t hungry, and didn’t need anything, but cried desperately every time we left him in his crib. Finally, we brought him downstairs and took turns holding him while playing. As soon as the car’s taillights were out of sight, he dropped to sleep in my arms. He just didn’t want to miss out on the fun. He’s been like that ever since.
Trevor continues to challenge us to keep up with his enthusiasm, energy, and intelligence. He’s active and loves to create new games and projects. He has an unquenchable thirst for understanding how and why things work – and he keeps us on our toes!
Trevor has a mind that latches onto a topic and won’t let go until he knows everything there is to know about it. And he wants to share his knowledge with everyone. His first love was trains, and he continues to adore those big machines – heading out to his grandfather’s to work on model trains with “Grandpa and the Boys” two or three times a month.
Trevor loves being crazy, his Legos, family, friends, Science, Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, God, new discoveries, and keeping very, very busy. This boy has more energy than anyone I’ve ever met {except maybe his little sister!}. He can be sweet, loving, cuddly, kind, energetic, relaxed, edgy, and argumentative – all in the same hour.
I just know that God has big plans for Trevor – I can’t wait to discover with him what those plans are.
Big or small… whatever his purpose in life is, Trevor brings joy to us all right now.
Happy birthday, sweet Trevor. I cannot believe that you are TEN years old already! You’re growing into such a little man, and I am so proud and blessed to be your mommy. Thank you for being such a great big brother and such an amazing son. You are a blessing to me and the entire family.
