Seattle’s Best Coffee & Taking My Mornings Back

I am not a morning person.

At all.

I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again many times, I’m sure. Getting up in the morning and getting myself going has always been a problem for me. Seriously…I’m a disgrace to all stay-at-home, work-at-home, and homeschooling moms.

There have been brief moments in my past that I’ve been good about getting up and staying on top of my day – and those periods are historically the ones where I’ve been the happiest, healthiest, and most productive. I’m ready to take my mornings back, get up, and get going before the kids do.

Maybe we’ll actually get a whole day’s worth of work done.

Seattle’s Best Coffee is challenging you and me to take our mornings back. What does that mean? Well…  For me, it means riding the momentum gained after sleepily getting up early in the morning last week to head to sessions at the awesome 2:1 Conference, and continuing to get out of bed – even if I don’t want to.

I hope to take back my mornings – and subsequently, my days – by getting up before the kids, enjoying my first cup of coffee without anyone chattering in my ear. {Seriously, how can anyone so small make so much conversation early in the morning??}

The quiet time will hopefully center me, give me some time to read a devotional, and allow me to {finally} be a step ahead of my kids. And when you’re homeschooling two, keeping a certain {ahem} death-defying three-year-old out of the ER, all while nursing and cooing over a sweet new baby, well… you need all the edge you can get.

I heard about the Seattle’s Best Challenge, and was thrilled to have the opportunity to head to Walmart to pick some up along with other morning essentials. I was even more thrilled with the $1.50 off coupon I won from Seattle’s Best’s Challenge site. Check it out – you may win a free bag!

I loved that I had the choice of “levels” so that I could decide if I wanted Light and Crisp or Dark and Intense. I was feeling pretty medium, so I chose Level Two – Light and Lively. You can follow my whole Walmart shopping trip by checking out my Google Plus album.

While I’m definitely a work-in-progress, I did manage to get up before the kids twice this week. We’ll try to forget about yesterday when I slept in until 10:00 a.m. Hey – I’m a work in progress, and Brian was home. I think he needs to have the pleasure of having his ear talked off enjoying breakfast with the kids once in awhile.

I’ll keep at it. I received a lovely Bible for Busy Mamas in my 2:1 swag bag, and am looking forward to enjoying many mornings with it and a yummy cup of Seattle’s Best Coffee flavored with my Heath Bar creamer. A yummy {and peaceful] way to start my day – and take back my mornings. {Even if this little guy wants to thwart me anytime I try to get a good night’s sleep…}
