Welcoming Isaac with Winter Fashion from Cookie’s Kids

Just in case you’ve missed the photo deluge on Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook… Baby K4 is here!

Baby K4

Isaac Leonard Kessler was born on Wednesday January 2, 2013 at 7lbs. 15oz. & 21in. long.

We’re thrilled he’s here, and his big brother is so excited to have another boy join the family. And while I’m tickled that we’re a nice symmetrical 2 boy/2 girl family now, I will admit to a few moments of panic as I thought about the boxes and bins of gorgeous girl clothes generous friends have blessed us with since Molly and Logan were born, and wondered where on Earth the few boxes of Trevor’s baby clothes {from 10 years ago} were.

The thought of venturing out with my three crazy kids and a newborn during the height of cold and flu season {the kids couldn’t come visit at the hospital because the CDC banned kid visitors under the age of 17 from all floors because of the significance of this year’s outbreak} to shop for baby boy clothes was NOT appealing.

Enter CookiesKids.com. Cookie’s Kids is a department store with 7 locations in the New York City area including Bronx, Brooklyn, Jamaica, and online at www.CookiesKids.com. This year, the chain celebrates its 40th year in business.

I was blessed with the opportunity to check out the site and gear our new little guy up for the winter session of co-op. Goodbye yellow and green neutrals – hello boy styles! The site is full of choices for boys and girls {infant through teens} with clothing, toys, accessories and a best-selling line of school uniforms.

The choices seemed overwhelming and I wandered around a bit looking at clothes for each of the kids before remembering my mission to clothe our newest family member, so I pulled myself back and focused on infant boys’ clothes. {Shhh! Don’t tell Brian, but I’ll need to go back to the site and check out more clothes for the big kids another time – the prices are fantastic and the clothes are so cute.}

There are so many things to choose from, but I opted for one piece coveralls as February and March in Ohio can be cold and unpredictable, and I don’t want to mess with multiple layers and pieces of clothing when I’ll likely have Isaac in a sling as I rush the other three kiddos to their classes on time.

My favorite – by far – is this “I Love My Sock Monkey” brown and red striped one piece.

I must have a monkey thing with this little one because as I looked back through my shopping trip, I noticed several different monkey outfits I’d looked at and mentally earmarked for future purchases. You can see my whole shopping trip, along with some of the things I looked at for the other kids by checking out my Google+ album.

In all, I ordered three super cute coveralls and a pack of warm, cozy socks for the lucky little one – all for just over $30. Unfortunately, this cute {monkey again} set was out of stock when Cookie’s Kids went to fill my order:

but I received a wonderful email once the problem was discovered and substituted it for another Offspring coverall and cap set – The Wild Crewwhich will be super cute for him to wear to check out Trevor’s “Exotic Animals” class at co-op.

I’ll have to wait a few more days to try that one on little Isaac, but I was excited to find a bag from Cookie’s Kids at the door today with the other three things I bought.

While one of the coveralls – Run Spot, Run from Duck, Duck, Goose – is for a bit later in the co-op session and 3-6 month sized, I think it will look adorable on him in March or April. So cute – and at $4.99 {with a MSRP of $16.00} a real bargain!

Seriously, though, I think I’m in love with this outfit and will probably dress him in it as often as it’s clean. My teeny model perked up for his mini photo shoot. Don’t you just love the brown and orange on him? And, I don’t know about you, but I love that period where all clothes are a bit scrunched up on newborns because everything it still a bit too big on them.

Thanks to Cookie’s Kids Isaac is ready to jump right into this homeschooling family’s craziness – beginning next week with gymnastics class. {Brian’s still home with us and is taking the kids to their gymnastics class and laser tag “recess day” this week while Isaac and I chill out at home and get to know each other.

If you need clothes for your kiddos, at an affordable price, and ordered from the comfort of your own home, I’d encourage you to check out CookiesKids.com yourself. In the meantime, follow #CookiesKids on Twitter or Facebook and get to know them a little better yourself.
