It’s a Virtual Party with Toopy & Binoo

My girls were recently introduced to an animated series about the imaginative cat and mouse characters Toopy and Binoo. Toopy is super-chatty, and narrates the duo’s adventures while Binoo is silent.

The goal of the show is inspiring preschoolers {ages 2-6} to expand their creativity, while reinforcing values like friendship, good manners, creative thinking, and humor. Logan and Molly both enjoy the show, and act out the adventures afterwards.

And, just so you know… I received a package of Toopy and Binoo products in exchange for a post about the show. All thoughts and opinions are mine and the girls’. We had a fun time working our way through the episodes and chatting about the values portrayed.

The show, which has been on air in Canada since 2005, is now available for the first time ever to U.S. audiences on the Toopy and Binoo TV YouTube channel. The channel features more than 100 full-length {five minute} episodes – and I LOVE this length.

We’re not super-huge television watchers here, and I love that I can plop Molly and Logan on my bed with the iPad, cue the Toopy and Binoo TV YouTube channel, tell them to watch two episodes, and jump in the shower. I know that they’ll keep clicking through the episodes that are on the channel without inappropriate videos popping up after one show ends.

And, having the shows in 5-minute increments allows me to get a few tasks done around the house {or gives me a chance to start another pot of coffee after a sleepless night}.

To celebrate the launch of the U.S. YouTube channel, they’re having a twitter party today at 1:00 p.m. with lots of great prizes. Take a lunch break, put the kids down for naps, and follow @ResourcefulMom and the hashtag #ToopyandBinoo on twitter today to learn more about the show.

See you there! {Are you following ME on Twitter?}
