A Keyboarding Program That Works: Keyboard Classroom

I have to admit that teaching keyboarding skills was one area in which I have been slacking off as a homeschool mom. I know how important it is for my kids to know how to type well, but I just haven’t found anything I liked.

We’ve tried free programs, and even a few that cost us a bit of money, but each one seemed…lacking.

And then I was introduced to Keyboard Classroom.

Oh my goodness! I love this program! And you will, too.

What Makes Keyboard Classroom Different from the Others?

The finger guides! Keyboard Classroom has developed a patent-pending set of finger guides designed to keep kids from adopting the “hunt and peck” method. The guides keep their fingers on the home keys where they belong.

Keyboard Classroom

I love how the program is set up. It’s easy for Trevor to see where he is and what he needs to do in order to move to the next rank. And he loves the system of earning tokens to play games.

For my kids, and any with asynchronous abilities, this program is gold. Kids can reach higher levels with skills they’ve mastered, while still working on others on which they need additional practice.

And practice… there’ s a ton of built in practice sessions before the games can be played. Trevor needs to practice to earn his tokens, and once the tokens run out, he has to practice some more in order to earn additional ones.

This program is a keeper.

How to Purchase Keyboard Classroom

You can purchase the program at as a digital download. The finger guides will be shipped right away and should arrive within a few days of purchase.

There are two buying options for home use — Single User License {$39.95} and Family License {$49.95}. Since the program tracks progress, you’ll need a username {license} for each family member using it simultaneously. So, for a large family like ours, the Family License is the best purchase option.

Special Homeschool Pricing for Families

Both Trevor and I highly recommend this program if you’re looking for an effective way to teach keyboarding skills that works, and is still fun for the kids.

Let me know if you check it out.
