This, like the Number Lovin’ Oven, is one of those toys I wasn’t expecting to like. It seems simple, and like one of the toys we already have, but the kids absolutely adore this.
It looks like both a tool kit and a dog house at the same time. It breaks down and comes apart, and includes all the tools they need for imaginative play.
What is the Scout’s Build & Discover Tool Set all about?
Scout’s Build & Discover Tool Set is designed for toddlers. It’s easy to take apart and put back together using the included tools, and guidance from Scout himself. He encourages the kids to count nails, measure walls and windows, and explore the tools. They match colors while they work as they learn the functions of different tools. The red wrench tightens the red bolt. The orange hammer hits the orange nails.
What the Kids Thought of the Scout’s Build & Discover Tool Set
Like the Number Lovin’ Oven, my two little ones play with this every single day. They pull it out, take it apart, rebuild it, then line it up with other houses and structures they have and play “village” with their tiny trolls and fairy figures.
It’s actually really cute – when it’s not happening at 6am before I’ve had my coffee. That hammering can get loud.
What I Thought About the Scout’s Build & Discover Tool Set
This is one of those products that I’m surprised at how engaging my kids find it. The learning experts at LeapFrog really know toddlers because this captivates mine. It’s simple, teaches a few lessons, and inspires hours of imaginative play.
Little ones can construct the doghouse from the ground up, have a chat with their pal Scout, sing along with him to favorite songs, or jut tinker around with the tools. The roof of the house makes the perfect handle to take this toy along for on-the-go adventures.
