Keep Christ in Christmas with these Resources

Advent is a special time for us. We are busy preparing our hearts and our homes through little acts of kindness, decorating, and gift-giving. Our preparations focus on the ultimate gift – the birth of our Savior on Christmas Day.

I’m excited to team up with Rebecca, Cindy, Aurie & Kerry to start Advent off with a Giveaway. Kerry has offered to bless three readers with copies of her Christmas books and Bible studies to deepen their faith this Christmas season.

This week, we’ll begin deepening our own understanding of this season with Kerry’s book, Christmas Celebrations: Advent, Christmas, Epiphany.

Christmas Celebrations - Dozens of ideas to put Christ back into Advent, Christmas, & Epiphany ~ ChristmasCelebrationIdeas.com

I love that this book takes us on a celebration of Advent, through the twelve days of Christmas, and up until Epiphany. We can use it for the whole season, deepening the kids’ understanding of their faith with the homeschool tie-ins that are included in the book.

I especially love the lesson describing the symbolism of the words in the song, The Twelve Days of Christmas.

This is perfect for you if:

  • you have young kids or older kids.
  • you want to integrate homeschooling into Christmas (it’s already done for you in this ebook).
  • you want to learn about the Christian meaning of our Christmas symbols.
  • you want to focus on Christ during Advent.
  • you want to celebrate the Twelve Days of Christmas or Epiphany.

For a little bit of multicultural fun, we’re going to work through some of this Christmas Around the World Unit Study too.

This study is great for families who:

  • have elementary or junior high kids.
  • want to learn more about the history of Christmas.
  • want to use a scope & sequence to plan their homeschool.
  • want to make some crafts or cook food from different areas of the world.
  • want a list of books to read that reflect other countries’ Christmas celebrations.

We are looking forward to studying how other countries celebrate Advent & Christmas. Kerry’s book makes it easy with 1-week or 2-week lesson plans.

I’m fascinated by this fabulous Bible study, the Star of Bethlehem Family Bible Study  that incorporates astronomy and astrology.

I’ve flipped through it and have it earmarked to work through with the bigger kids next year. {There’s just not enough time in our days to finish all I’d love to do!}

You might like this study if:

  • you want to study Matthew 2 to learn what the Star of Bethlehem is.
  • you have older children and you’re looking for family Bible study.
  • you want to tie together Bible and Science.
  • you want to get a BONUS item: Skies of the Cross Bible Study.

I love that you can buy one copy and print additional copies for everyone in your immediate family.

Here’s what others say about the Star of Bethlehem Family Bible Study:

Not only is there a fresh focus on God’s AWESOME communication with us throughout time, but you will learn more astronomy than YEARS of study in a text! Kerry takes you deeply into the Word of God to dig out what God has to say about stars, astronomy, astrology, and neatest of all, how God used STARS to tell about His plan for salvation through Jesus Christ! If you are like me and find yourself a bit intimidated when thinking of Astronomy Studies, this is the book for you! AND…if you are looking for a great Bible Study, don’t wait! ~~Cindy Rushton, Rushton Family Ministries
