The iconic Folgers jingle has become a part of pop culture – generations have heard the tune and sing along with the words. Including me. It’s something I hum without realizing it in the supermarket when I walk down the coffee aisle.
Folgers loves inspiring musicians to follow their dreams, and this year, they’ve teamed up with country music singer-songwriter Chris Young to encourage aspiring musicians to create their own version of the iconic Best Part of Wakin’ Up™ Jingle in the Folgers Jingle Contest.
This is a creative — and coffee-addicted — comunity. I knew you’d want to hear about this opportunity to stretch your imaginative muscles and give it a try.
Here is how it works:
Submit a video of your best version of the jingle on the website from January 30th through February 27th. Your version of the Jingle must include the complete melody and complete lyrics of “The Best Part of Wakin’ Up is Folgers in Your Cup.”
February 27th to March 19th: they will choose 5 semi-finalists and each will have a mentoring session with Chris Young before the online vote.
March 27th to April 24th: fans from around the country will get the chance to vote daily for their favorite jingle. Every vote automatically gives voters a chance to win prizes up to $10,000.
In May: one winner will be selected to win the grand prize of $25,000!
