Homeschooling Gifted Kids – On Air Today

*** Updated 10/29/13 2:05pm *** Lauren’s daughter took a tumble and needed to head to the ER. Please pray for the sweet girl and her mama. We’ll reschedule this hangout and talk gifted another day. I’ll update this post with new dates and times once they’re scheduled and add in the video once it’s recorded. Thank you for understanding, and for your prayers. ***

Will you be at home today? Around a computer, phone, or tablet with Internet access? I hope so because I’m joining some fabulous bloggers with bright kids of their own to talk about homeschooling gifted kids in a Google Hangout on Air sponsored by Mama’s Learning Corner at 2:00 p.m.

I’ve been enjoying the learning process in regards to adding a video component to Raising Lifelong Learners, and I hope you all have enjoyed seeing my kids talk about some of the things we’ve reviewed, and me talk about homeschooling. I plan to add more vlogs – hopefully a few a month.

And, while I enjoy recording videos for you, it’s a lot of fun for me to participate in live Hangouts because they’re so interactive. Did you know that if you head over to the event page and join in this afternoon, you can ask live questions and interact with those of us on air? {If you’ve never explored Google+ before, you can sign in with your Google account – or create a free one – just for this purpose.}

Don’t worry if you can’t check us out live, the Hangout will be recorded and available here on this post as soon as it’s published. You can always come back here to see what Lauren Hill, Cindy West, and I have to say about gifted kids.

Are you just visiting for the first time today? Maybe you stumbled across this blog after watching the hangout. Maybe you’re looking for ways to encourage a love of learning in your kids, or are in the trenches parenting gifted kids of your own. Maybe you’re a homeschooler wondering how you can do this crazy thing and still stay sane – no matter what ability range your child falls into. Whatever the reason, I’m so glad you’re here.

Here at Raising Lifelong Learners, I hope to inspire you as a parent, homeschooler, mom or dad of gifted kids or hands-on learners, and a homemaker. I share the things my kids and I do to explore, discover, create, and play everyday as we learn to grow in faith as a homeschooling family.

In the next few months, I’ll be adding Google Hangouts of my own, and am so excited to share some amazing panelists, speakers, and friends with you. I’m updating my newsletter to be more streamlined, informative, and full of helpful, practical tips and resources for you to implement right away in your school, home, and homeschool. I’ll be asking you for your help in a new book I’m writing, and will be inviting guest posts for RLL’s Gifted Kids at Home feature.

Got a story to share? Get it ready…

I’ll also be moving my blog to a new platform, and while it should look very much the same, it will be more user-friendly. Categories will be pared, menus will drop down, and the information, tips, and tricks you want to find will be right there at the click of your mouse.

I’m praying the downtime is minimal, hopefully invisible to all of you.

Before you go enjoy your kids today, take a minute and share with me – how many of you are parenting your own gifted kids? How old are they?

And, if you are homeschooling and/or parenting gifted kids, do you subscribe to our newsletter yet? If not, take a moment to subscribe. There are several subscriber-only deals and giveaways in the works. You may need to opt-in again in a few weeks when I switch over to a new service provider, but this way, you won’t miss anything in the meantime.

Have a great day – I’m so thankful for you.
