My kids are so sick of the same old breakfasts… are yours? Or are you better than I am and change things up from a rotation of eggs and toast, smoothies and muffins, and cereal? I’ll admit that I often fall back on the easy, and if you’re like me, this deep dish bacon and cheese breakfast pizza will make your kids fans of your morning cooking again!
And it’s super easy to make.
Deep Dish Bacon and Cheese Pizza Recipe
The best thing about this semi-homeade recipe is that it uses the little packets of pizza dough mix you can get at the grocery or Walmart for under a dollar. Easy-peasy for those of us who want to teach our kids to takeover in the kitchen so we can eat bon bons and read books all day long. (If that’s only me, then you can use any pizza dough recipe you have or love.)
Ingredients
- Pizza Dough Packet (pictured)
- 2 Eggs
- 1/4 Cup Milk
- Shredded Mozzarella Cheese
- Shredded Sharp Cheddar Cheese
- Crispy Cooked Bacon
Directions
Preheat the oven to 425.
Prepare the dough as directed on the package, usually just add warm water.
Set aside.
Cook the bacon and chop into bite sized pieces.
Press the dough into the bottom of an 8×8 or 9×9 buttered pan.
Bake the dough for about 8 minutes, remove from oven.
Whisk the eggs and milk together, pour over the crust.
Top with bacon and cheeses.
Return to the oven to bake for about 15 minutes.
NOTE: This is an easily customizable recipe. You can add other meats, change out the cheese type, or add some yummy veggies. Be creative.
